Fenton, Kalamazoo, Portage and Portage North centers now open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.daily

KALAMAZOO, MI: WellNow Urgent Care, one of the country’s fastest-growing urgent care providers, announced that beginning Tuesday, June 1, 2021, its centers in Fenton, Kalamazoo, and Portage (formerly Hometown Urgent Care centers) will extend their hours of operation to better serve communities in Michigan. Fenton, Kalamazoo, Portage and Portage North will now be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Walk-ins are welcome, or patients can schedule a visit online at WellNow.com.

“As most of us have experienced, especially if you have children, injuries and illnesses show up at the most inconvenient times,” said John Radford, M.D., President at WellNow Urgent Care. “We want to provide our patients with the care they need, when they need it, so they can get back to their lives within 45 minutes instead of waiting in an emergency room for hours or delaying treatment.”

Within the new extended hours, Sunday through Saturday, patients can receive all urgent care treatments and services, including COVID-19 testing, X-rays, and on-site diagnostics. No appointment is necessary, although patients can book their visit online. Occupational Medicine services, including Workers’ Compensation assistance, pre-employment physicals, drug and alcohol testing, respirator fit exams and more, are also available on a walk-in basis.

Urgent care centers are an increasingly important part of the U.S. healthcare marketplace, providing patients with much-needed access to quality care with shorter wait times, walk-in and same day care options, and lower costs than the traditional emergency room. WellNow Urgent Care centers provide fast and convenient walk-in service for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses such as sprains, burns, cuts, colds and allergies while also providing on-site X-rays, lab testing and physicals. Patients can speak with a WellNow provider virtually, seven days a week, using the company’s telehealth platform. WellNow accepts most insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, Fidelis and Veterans Affairs TriWest. A full list of services and locations can be found at WellNow.com.
