LIVERPOOL, NY – WellNow Urgent Care, one of the country’s fastest-growing urgent care providers, announced that it will offer the COVID-19 vaccine at its Liverpool center beginning Tuesday, April 27th. Appointments are suggested and can be booked online; however, walk-ins are also welcome. Vaccinations will take place between Tuesday, April 27th and Friday, April 30th from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, May 1st and Sunday, May 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; and Monday, May 3rd from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Additional appointment times and locations will be announced as more vaccines become available.

“Our team is proud to be part of the ongoing vaccination effort,” said John Radford, M.D., President at WellNow Urgent Care. “Helping our communities get and stay healthy is always our top priority and providing a convenient destination for our neighbors to get their COVID-19 vaccine will ultimately help everyone get back to the normal day-to-day activities, travel and gatherings that we’ve all missed over the last year.”

WellNow is currently offering the first dose of the Moderna vaccine to its Central New York patients. The Moderna vaccine requires two doses for effectiveness; appointments for the second dose will be made at the time patients receive their first dose. All WellNow centers are staffed by a Provider who can administer care in the unlikely event of a severe allergic reaction to the vaccine.

Once an appointment is booked, patients will receive a text confirmation and will be asked to complete e-registration prior to their visit. Vaccines are 100% covered by insurance for those with insurance, and of no cost to those without insurance. Patients must meet New York State eligibility requirements to receive the vaccine and may be asked to present proof of eligibility at the time of their visit. “We’ve worked tirelessly to bring the COVID-19 vaccine to WellNow because we are confident that it’s highly effective in preventing the spread of the virus,” said Tanvir M. Dara, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at WellNow Urgent Care. “The vaccine has undergone vigorous assessment in clinical trials and is proven to be safe for patients encompassing all races, genders, and health. Side effects, when reported, have been very mild, but patients should discuss any allergies, health conditions or other concerns with a Provider.”

WellNow Urgent Care continues to provide timely service for non-life-threatening ailments such as sprains, burns, colds and allergies while also providing on-site X-rays, lab testing and physicals. COVID-19 testing, including rapid testing, molecular PCR swab testing and antibody testing, is also available with no appointment necessary; patients can walk in or schedule a visit online. Urgent care services are treated on a walk-in basis, but patients may also visit WellNow.com to check in online. A full list of services can be found online and a full list of WellNow facilities can be found at WellNow.com/locations.
