COVID-19 PCR testing will be available seven days a week for asymptomatic patients only
MASSENA, NY – WellNow Urgent Care, one of the country’s fastest-growing urgent care providers, announced that in response to increased demand for COVID-19 testing in the region, its newest center in Massena will open on Wednesday, February 23rd as a dedicated COVID-19 PCR testing center for asymptomatic patients. Located at 94 Grove Street, Massena, NY 13662, the new testing facility will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Patients can simply walk in, or if preferred, schedule their visit online. WellNow continues to monitor developments related to COVID-19 and plans to introduce a full range of urgent care services at the Massena center as patient and community needs change.
“Our team remains committed to delivering the care and services that are most needed in our communities, and we continue to add to our robust testing services,” said John Radford, M.D., President at WellNow Urgent Care. “We’re proud to be a trusted destination for COVID-19 PCR testing, and we look forward to introducing a full range of urgent care services at our new Massena center soon.”
PCR samples are sent directly to WellNow’s PCR lab, which processes COVID-19 tests 24 hours a day to ensure patients receive their results quickly. Currently, 98 percent of COVID-19 PCR tests collected at WellNow return results within 24 hours and the rest return results within 48 hours. Additional information about COVID-19 testing at WellNow Urgent Care, including testing cost and insurance coverage, can be found at COVID-19.
Patients seeking treatment for injuries and illnesses, occupational medicine services, and those experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should visit their nearest full-service WellNow Urgent Care center. Full-service WellNow centers in the area include Plattsburgh and Watertown.
COVID-19 PCR testing is available at all WellNow locations; however, asymptomatic patients are strongly encouraged to visit one of WellNow’s dedicated testing sites. Asymptomatic patients include individuals who may have been exposed to COVID-19 but are not currently exhibiting symptoms, as well as patients without symptoms who require PCR results for work, school or other purposes. Individuals with symptoms of COVID-19, those who may be at high risk for COVID-19 due to age or other health factors, and those who require screening before a surgical procedure should visit a full-service WellNow Urgent Care location.
