Dr. Robert Biernbaum, DO, is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with almost three decades of experience in clinical care, healthcare leadership, and medical education. He is widely recognized for his expertise in operational leadership, quality improvement, and patient experience across complex healthcare delivery systems. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.
Over the years, Dr. Biernbaum transitioned into key leadership roles, including serving as Chief Medical Officer, Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO), and System Executive for Innovation and Clinical Transformation at prominent healthcare organizations. In these roles, he led enterprise-wide initiatives to enhance care quality, integrate clinical technology, streamline operations, and build engaged, high-performing medical teams.
Dr. Biernbaum earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree and completed his residency training in emergency medicine, subsequently becoming board-certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Emergency Medicine. His early clinical career was rooted in leading emergency departments, where he developed a reputation for clinical excellence, calm under pressure, and compassionate patient care.
